Navigating the Liberty Hiring Process: A Look Behind the Scenes

So, what happens after you submit your application? Let’s take a behind-the-scenes look at our hiring process.
Step 1: Application review
- Where to apply: All open positions are listed on our careers page.
- What we look for: Every application is reviewed by a real person - no automated filters or AI screenings. Our Talent Acquisition team evaluates resumes and cover letters based on relevant experience, skills, and an interest in joining Liberty.
Step 2: Initial screening
- Format: A 15–30 minute phone conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team.
- Purpose: This is a chance for us to learn more about your background and for you to ask any initial questions about the role or company.
Step 3: Online assessment (if applicable)
For certain positions, candidates may be asked to complete assessments that help us understand:
- Behavioral traits: How you prefer to work and communicate.
- Personality fit: Your work style and interactions with others.
- Aptitude skills: How quickly you learn and retain new information.
Step 4: Team interview
- Format: A 60-minute virtual or in-person panel interview with the hiring manager and leaders from across different teams.
- Focus: A deeper discussion about your experience, skills, and how you can contribute to Liberty. This usually includes a mix of technical and behavioral-based questions.
Step 5: Offer stage
- A member of our Talent Acquisition team will connect with you to go over the details of the compensation package and answer any questions you may have.
Step 6: Pre-boarding
Before your first day, you’ll complete:
- A background check and drug screen (additional pre-employment verifications may be required for specific roles)
- Online onboarding paperwork
- Meet with an HR partner to prepare for your first day
Step 7: Welcome to Liberty!
- Day 1: You’ll attend orientation with HR, learn about your benefits, receive your tools and technology, and meet your leader and team.
Step 8: 100 days to success
Your first three months are all about getting settled and learning:
- Meet regularly with your leader
- Understand team goals and performance expectations
- Connect with cross-functional teams
- Learn about Liberty’s Purpose, Guiding Principles & Strategic Pillars
