Teamwork and community connections are part of what makes the expansion of Salem, New Hampshire’s Tuscan Village successful. Working to energize Tuscan Village gave Liberty immense pride as we knew we were part of something bringing value to community members.
Now, as Tuscan Village expands, our team is once again energized to be part of the excitement. Bringing power to the project’s biggest building to date requires nearly one mile of three phase 4/0 underground cable, 1,200 feet of 1000kcmil cable, four transformers, and the expansion of two underground circuits from the new Rockingham substation. All of this is now complete and the newest addition to Tuscan Village is ready for its tenants, which will include apartments and condominiums, restaurants, and retail stores. Whole Foods will be one of the tenants in this building.
Once tenants start moving in, the more than 300 residential meters and about a dozen commercial meters will be installed.

The conduit in the picture above carries the main power cables from the switchgear to the transformers, and also connects the transformers to each other.

The concrete boxes shown above are called precast switchgear manholes. They hold and protect the power cables that run under the switchgear, connecting it to transformers and other equipment.
For Erin Guzman, Key Account Manager, this is an exciting project as she visits businesses in Tuscan Village and can see how the development has enhanced the community. “It’s always busy, no matter the time of day,” Guzman said. “This has really elevated this area for residents and businesses, and as it grows, will elevate it even more.”
A project like this takes teamwork and Bryan Flynn, Supervisor of Construction Operations said this team works well to meet the needs of the project. “I am really impressed with how the team moves forward at each step for such a large project, he said.
Since Tuscan Village will continue to expand, Liberty can look forward to being the beacon that brings light to the newest pride of the community.
