At Liberty, keeping our communities safe and ensuring reliable natural gas service are central to our mission. To support growing needs and enhance the strength of our system, we’re excited to share that construction is underway on a new gate station in Londonderry, NH.

August 2025
Construction is underway on Liberty’s new Harvey Rd Gate Station in Londonderry, NH. The project includes tapping the existing 16-inch pipeline that currently supplies the Calpine Power Plant and building a new meter and regulating station on Harvey Road. Once complete, the facility will reduce pressure and serve as a key connection point for future pipeline expansion projects.
While the Harvey Rd station will initially feed the local system, it is also a major step toward reinforcing the broader Nashua area. The project lays the foundation for increased supply from the Tennessee Gas Pipeline—an additional 40,000 Dth—helping Liberty continue to provide customers with reliable natural gas service, particularly during cold New England winters.
Construction is already underway, with completion targeted by the end of 2025. Once online, the station will support phased tie-ins to the rest of the distribution system through upcoming main extensions.
Following completion of the gate station, Liberty will begin the next phase of the project, which includes installing approximately 1.8 miles of 12-inch pipeline along Harvey Rd, Pettengill Rd, and Raymond Wieczorek Dr, ending at Brown Ave in Manchester. Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and conclude in the fall.
The final phase, beginning in Spring 2027, will extend the main another 8 miles south to Litchfield, including a directional drill under the Merrimack River, where it will ultimately tie into the existing distribution system in Nashua.
The Harvey Rd Gate Station is a significant milestone that positions Liberty for the larger infrastructure improvements planned over the next several years. Once complete, the project will enhance system reliability and help ensure safe, consistent natural gas service for customers throughout the region.

November 2025
Liberty’s new gate station in Londonderry is steadily progressing and remains on track for completion by the end of the year. All three project buildings (the gate station, boiler building, and data acquisition building) are now fully constructed, and most major equipment and piping have been installed.
Most of the challenging tasks have been completed, including the transmission line tap, which will ultimately enable gas to flow through the take station. Remaining work includes installation and testing of electrical and communication systems, piping for heating and pressure regulation, as well as final grading and site restoration.
Once this phase is finished, phase two will begin, which includes construction of a 2-mile, 12" pipeline originating at the Harvey Rd Gate Station and tying into the existing Manchester distribution system.

This will allow the Harvey Road station to be fully commissioned and flowing gas. Followed by Phase Three, where the 12" pipeline will continue another 8-miles through Litchfield and, ultimately, into Merrimack.
The pipeline will provide much needing capacity to the greater Nashua distribution system to allow for additional growth and system resiliency for years to come. This is an exciting milestone not only for the project team, but also for customers in the Manchester and Nashua areas, who will benefit from increased supply and long-term system reliability.
Stay tuned for our next update from Harvey Road!
Final Update: May 2025
Liberty has reached a major milestone in the Harvey Rd infrastructure project with the completion of the new gate station in Londonderry. Site restoration is also complete, including paving, installation of a permanent security fence, and landscaping improvements with arborvitae plantings to enhance the appearance of the site.
While the gate station is complete, it is not yet in service and there is currently no natural gas flowing through it. That will come after Phase Two is completed.
Phase Two includes construction of approximately two miles of 12-inch natural gas pipeline connecting the Harvey Rd Gate Station to Liberty's existing Manchester distribution system. Construction is expected to begin in the coming months.
The project remains a key investment in strengthening system reliability and supporting future growth throughout the greater Manchester and Nashua regions.

"This is an important milestone for the project and a testament to the hard work of everyone involved. Completing the gate station moves us one step closer to strengthening system reliability and supporting future growth in the region."
