For the third year in a row, Liberty has received the American Gas Association’s (AGA) Safety Achievement Award in the medium-sized combination utility category. This prestigious award recognizes Liberty and all our employees for their safety performance in our natural gas, electric, and water operations.
Liberty has received this award because as an organization, safety is embedded in everything we do--it’s part of our belief system and our culture. We value the safety of our employees, our customers, and the communities that we serve. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Liberty proved that commitment by experiencing the lowest number of days away from work, restricted, or transferred (known as “DART” in the industry) for companies our size.
Ester Di Giovanni, senior director of EHS for Liberty, and Patrick Lech, manager of customer field service and daytime dispatch for our Massachusetts operation, were presented the award at the AGA Safety Operations Conference Awards Luncheon on May 1st.
As a company, we continue to stress how important safety is to the success of our organization; nothing is prioritized over safety. This achievement underscores that commitment and is especially impressive considering how much work we do each day throughout thousands of communities for our more than 3 million customers.
